Before you begin, make sure your nails don’t have any sharp edges that could catch on the material and remove any jewellery that may cause snags or tears. Start by gathering one of the hold ups, gently bunching the material together and slip it onto the toes, slowly rolling up the shins and over the knee. Once you have the stockings at your preferred area, simply adjust them into place, whether you want to wear them as thigh highs or just above the knee area to show a little extra skin. Keep your blue hold ups in tip-top condition by washing and drying them correctly, ensuring they stay as good as new and retain their colour wear after wear. Hold ups can either be washed in the washing machine or by hand, depending on their style and denier. Blue hold up stockings between 8 and 40 denier should ideally be washed by hand, as they’re made from a more delicate material. To do this, firstly fill up a bowl with mild washing detergent and lukewarm water, then place the hold ups into the bowl. Gently massage the stockings to make sure all areas are being cleaned properly and leave them to soak for 5 to 10 minutes. Once they’ve finished soaking, remove them from the bowl and gently squeeze to release any excess moisture. Simply hang the hold ups over a clothes horse or leave them to dry on a towel until they’re completely dry. If your hold ups are above 40 denier, we recommend placing them in the washing machine inside a pillowcase or soft storage bag, using a low heat setting and mild detergent. To prevent any snags or tears in the washing machine, don’t wash your hold ups with other clothing that may have zips or detailing that could catch on the hold ups.
